Alternatives to Clarifai

Clarifai offers content moderation as models and workflows on a general AI platform, with labeling tools, custom training, deployment down to air-gapped hardware, and a single pay-as-you-go plan of prepaid credits whose per-inference moderation price is not published in the docs we could reach. If you want a dedicated moderation API with a price list, deletion after analysis or deepfake detection, here are seven services in the same space, each described from its own public materials.

Information last reviewed September 7, 2026. Covered: Clarifai as described in its published documentation (clarifai.com could not be loaded on the review date), alongside six other content moderation services, in USD.

Four questions to ask any Clarifai alternative

Which media does it actually moderate?

Some providers run dedicated models for images, video, text and audio. Others cover images and text and treat audio as a transcript or video as sampled frames. Check whether live streams, audio, and AI-generated or deepfake content are standard products or custom work, and how many categories the taxonomy publishes.

Can you price it without a sales call?

Providers on this page bill per request, per 1,000, per operation, per minute, per prepaid credit or per monthly message bundle, and some publish no per-unit price at all. A published price is not the same as a lower one, but it tells you what a pilot costs before you commit engineering time. Compare at your own volume and mix.

What happens to the content afterwards?

Deleted on result, retained for days or months for a review queue, or kept to improve the vendor’s models unless you opt out: every provider on this page sits somewhere on that line, and their own privacy pages say where. Read the retention statement and the training clause, then ask your data protection officer.

Who makes the final call, and what can you prove?

Fully automated APIs return a score against a threshold you set. Some vendors add in-house human reviewers or a dashboard for your own team. Ask which you need for your policy, then ask what the vendor can show a regulator: certifications held in its own name, an availability guarantee, and a retention statement. None of this is legal advice.
