Where Detector24 and WebPurify differ

People on the other end, or not

WebPurify’s distinctive offer is an in-house human team working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which it states it never crowdsources, returning a decision on a photo within five minutes at $0.02 each, with custom dedicated teams on three to four weeks’ lead time. Detector24 has no human reviewers in the loop by design: every decision is a model score against a threshold you set. Which you want depends on whether your policy has judgement calls a model should not make.

Per-image versus per-model

WebPurify publishes simple per-unit prices: $0.0026 per AI-moderated image, $0.02 per human-reviewed photo, hybrid from $0.0015, 15 cents per minute of live video review, and a profanity filter at $5, $15 or $50 a month, with 100 free photos to start. Detector24 publishes per-model prices with basic moderation from $0.00007 per check on higher-tier plans, from a $99 or $599 monthly minimum, with 100 free moderations every month.

Where the catalogues diverge

Detector24 offers image, video and live-stream, text and audio moderation, plus AI-generated image detection, deepfake detection, AI music and AI voice detection, and threat detection. WebPurify names text, image, video, Metaverse and GenAI moderation; audio moderation appears in a blog post as transcription reviewed by humans, live streams as a custom solution, and its GenAI page describes synthetic image and deepfake detection without a published price or API.

Availability guarantee versus certifications

WebPurify publishes a 99.95% availability guarantee, a five-minute image turnaround SLA, Privacy Shield certification and GDPR and CCPA compliance statements; SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are not stated in the materials we reviewed. Detector24 states AICPA SOC, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, CSA STAR Level One, GDPR-compliant handling, and 99.5% and 99.9% SLAs on its Forensic and Enterprise plans.

Where we agree with WebPurify: the threshold is the policy

WebPurify’s FAQ makes a point Detector24 makes too: accuracy is relative to which categories you enable and where you set the rejection threshold. A model that flags 98.5% of offensive content at one threshold will flag a different share at another, and the trade-off against false positives is a product decision, not a vendor one. Both companies hand that dial to the customer.

What WebPurify adds is the option to hand the hard cases to a person. Its in-house team, its five-minute turnaround SLA and its hybrid tier exist because some policies need judgement a classifier cannot supply. Detector24 takes the opposite position on purpose: no human reviewers in the loop, content deleted after analysis, and the review workflow left to your product. Neither is wrong; they answer different risk appetites and different privacy postures.

The catalogues diverge on media. Detector24 has separate detectors for AI-generated images, deepfakes, AI music, AI voice and threats, and states latency per modality. WebPurify’s GenAI page describes synthetic image and deepfake detection combining AI and human expertise, without a published price or API endpoint, and its audio and live-stream coverage is described as custom work. If you need those detectors as self-serve API calls today, Detector24 has them on the price list.

Detector24 fits you if

  • You want a fully automated API with no human reviewer ever seeing your users’ content
  • You need self-serve AI-generated image, deepfake, AI music or AI voice detection with a published price
  • Audio and live-stream moderation must be standard products, not custom work
  • Certifications held (SOC, ISO 27001, PCI DSS) are what your security review asks for

WebPurify may fit you if

  • Your policy has judgement calls that need a human decision within minutes
  • Simple per-photo pricing at $0.02 human or $0.0026 AI is easier to budget
  • You need a WordPress, Drupal or Joomla profanity plugin at $5 a month
  • A published 99.95% availability guarantee matters more than a certification list
