Where we agree with Hive: the model is only half the product
Hive’s pitch to Trust and Safety teams is that classification without workflow leaves the hard part undone: someone still has to handle appeals, watch for repeat offenders and tune rules. Detector24 agrees that the workflow matters, and disagrees about who should own it. Hive sells the desk; Detector24 sells the signal and expects your product to own the desk, which is why it publishes per-model thresholds and a REST API rather than a review console.
The commercial consequence is the clearest difference on this page. Hive’s self-serve tier is limited to 100 requests a day and its docs steer visual moderation onto an annual contract. Detector24 is self-serve at every tier, with 100 free moderations a month and monthly minimums instead of annual commitments. If you already know you want an enterprise platform with a dashboard and on-premise deployment, Hive’s route is the direct one. The last difference is retention. Hive keeps customer data for 14 days by default and its terms allow that data to improve its services.
